The Best in the West Shootout continued as the Wheelin' Jazz faced the #4 Golden State Warriors in the Semi Final game. Golden State jumped out early and lead the entire first half. Lead by Chuck Gill and Peter Sanchez, the Warriors led 32-27 at the half.
The second half opened with the Wheelin' Jazz starting a run that resulted in a 12 point lead with just over 3 minutes remaining. Golden State began to foul putting Utah at the line. Golden State could only cut the lead to 4 before falling 61-57.
The Whellin' Jazz were led by Jeff Griffin with 28 points followed by Mike Schlappi with 11. Golden State placed 3 players in double figures. Dave Sutherland, Peter Sanchez, and Chuck Gill scored 14, 13, and 10 points.
The win puts the Wheelin' Jazz into the championship game for the third staight year.
